Week 12 of the college football season saw exciting wins and disappointing losses. Cincinnati’s win over UCF advanced them to 8-0 and Michigan beat Rutgers in three overtime periods to get to 2-3 on the season. Penn States loss to Iowa moved the Nittany Lions to 0-5 and Kentucky managed only three points versus Alabama in a 63-3 game.

I followed these three games:

(9) Indiana 35 (3) Ohio State University 42

This Big 10 East showdown found both teams undefeated and the Buckeyes a 20 point favorite. It took OSU only two plays of their opening drive to score first. They dominated from there, with the halftime score in favor of the Buckeyes 28-7. The Hoosiers were not done and gave the Buckeyes a game in the second half. But, the Ohio State defense was too much for Indiana, and stopped the final Hoosiers drive for the win.

(10) Wisconsin 7 (19) Northwestern 17

Another Big 10 showdown in the West division took place between the Badgers and Wildcats. Both came into the contest undefeated, with Northwestern entering as a seven-point underdog. This was a low scoring affair with the Badgers giving up five turnovers – the most since 2015. With the win, Northwestern jumped eight spots to No. 11 in the AP Poll, while Wisconsin fell to No. 18.

(14) Oklahoma State 13 (18) Oklahoma 41

A Big 12 shootout with the Sooners 5-2 on the season and the Cowboys 5-1. The Sooners were a seven-point favorite. Oklahoma scored early and often. By halftime, the score was Oklahoma, 27, Oklahoma State, 13. Led by quarterback Spencer Rattler, the Sooners continued putting points on the board in the second half and denied any scoring by Oklahoma State. Oklahoma had 493 total yards and Oklahoma State 246. Oklahoma has its eyes on another Big 12 title, though claiming a spot in the four-team college football playoff seems a bit out of reach with two losses. The Sooners are now No. 14 in the most recent AP Poll.
