Feature Story: Buccaneers beat Browns in OT

In yet another thrilling 2018 overtime game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers walked away with the 26-23 victory over a tough Cleveland Browns team. The main difference proved to be in the passing game where Tampa Bay WR Mike Evans led the Bucs with 7 catches for 107 yards. In addition to Evans on the receiving end, QB Jameis Winston targeted 10 players while totaling 365 yards passing. Meanwhile, rookie QB Baker Mayfield had some trouble as only Jarvis Landry had over 5 catches and he was sacked 5 times with 29 yards lost. Two of the most important plays of the game came from the same player, Bucs Kicker Chandler Catanzaro. At the end of regulation, he tried a 40-yard attempt to win the game, but shanked it resulting in overtime. However, he came on once again to try a 59-yarder with another chance for the win and drilled it with leg to spare. After the game Winston described the kick as "Immaculate" and it also ended their 2-game losing streak. With huge plays coming from all positions on this Tampa Bay team, a wild card spot is possible even playing in the brutal NFC South.

Up Next: Tampa Bay goes on the road to Cincinnati where they'll face off against the Bengals. Meanwhile, Cleveland battles against the team they lost to in overtime of week 1, the versatile Pittsburgh Steelers.

Other notes:

1. The Cowboys rally against Washington fell short after gaining just 4 yards during the entire 3rd quarter. Their 17-20 loss was their 4th loss of 2018 while that win put the Redskins atop the NFC East standings.

2. Patrick Manhomes continued his dominant play on Sunday night leading the Chiefs to a 45-10 victory. Manhomes threw for 354 yards passing along with 4 TDs.

3. A lack of time management in the 4th quarter by the New York Giants allowed the Atlanta Falcons to hold onto a 23-20 win Monday night. Of the top performances, Falcons WR Julio Jones totaled 104 receiving yards for an average of 11.6 yards per catch, however, he's still looking for his first TD of 2018.

4. The Los Angeles Rams are still undefeated heading into week 8. A 39-10 road win over San Francisco this week will need to be followed up with another tough win in Green Bay next week in order to keep the undefeated streak alive.

5. In a marquee matchup on Sunday, Tom Brady and the Patriots took a 38-31 victory on the road over Chicago. The Bears offense played well, though, with TE Trey Burton hauling in 9 passes for 126 yards and QB Mitch Trubisky throwing for 333 yards and 2 TDs.

Great information on the NFL. The Browns are getting closer and closer to winning a couple of back-to-back games. They’re an exciting team to watch. Three of their four losses have been by 3 points. They may only win another game or two but they are no longer the laughing stock of the NFL. Dallas Cowboys are headed nowhere fast!
